Ketupat - rice that has been wrapped in a woven palm leaf pouch which is then boiled - is a traditional way of preparing rice in Southeast Asia. In Indonesia it is often used at celebrations. Idul Fitri (Eid al-Fitr) at 1 Syawal 1428 H - according the Islamic calender - is the official end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and is celebrated in abundance in Indonesia with music, dance, food, parades and prayers.
