9 September 2004 - A powerful explosion outside Australia's embassy in central Jakarta left several people dead and at least three badly injured Thursday and caused extensive damage to nearby buildings, officials and witnesses said. According to local television, Anton Sujarwo, a security guard at the embassy, was killed in the blast.
April 2004 - The general elections in Indonesia take about the entire year this time. In three separate rounds over 140 milion people will elect their government and president (later this year). This photobook will give you a view on the colorfull displays of campaigns in the cities across the country.
March 2004 - While travelling from Bira to Tana Toraja in March, I encountered a 'Kampanye Damai' in Belopa (just before Palopo if travelling from south to north), a campaign which included all 24 parties to promote peacefull elections. An ultimate chance to make some images of their people and the atmosphere in this small town.
March 2004 - A four day stay in Tana Toraja including daily trips through the mountainous, rainy and warm area gives you a wonderfull look inside the daily life here. However much has changed for the sake of 'modernization', there are still many locations where you can still enjoy the very basics of life.
March 2004 - Being around jogja for the second time in less than six months, I was able to see some differences. The construction of a new - likely high-volume - road kind of shocked me because this new road is constructed through a part of a neighborhood.

Gowa Kingdom was the strongest and the most successful kingdom during the seventeenth century . Ujung Pandang during that time was known a trading city which then was known as Macassar.
September 2003 - Several pictures donated by "brotherscarface" (WebShots). The pictures were made in Jakarta during a holiday there they show the normal life of the Jakartan people.
August 2003 - During my holiday in August 2003 I had the chance to celebrate my first Independence Day in Indonesia. That was a chance I wanted to take with both hands. Here you will find a diversity of pictures made on the 17th of August by myself or by my travel partner for my time in Jogja and Lombok. Thanks for that!
October 2002 - And suddenly the tranquillity of the Balinese tourist island was roughly disturbed by a coward terrorist attack on a nightclub full with people. Two car bombs exploded in Jalan Legian, the heart of the tourist center. At least 180 people were killed, among them lots of foreign tourists. View several images made just after the attack. Be carefull that several images can be shocking.
