The Garut Regency lies sixty-three kilometers to the southeast of Bandung, 717 meters above sea level. The area of Garut, 3,105,99 square kilometers large in size, lies between the Sumedang Regency in the north, the regency of Bandung and Cianjur in the west, the Indonesian Sea in the South the Tasikmalaya Regency in the east. This cool place can be reached from Bandung in approximately one hour. Due to the scenic beauty of this there are many places of interest for nature lovers. The inhabitants of Garut are mostly Moslems and more than half of the people live on farming.
