At a distance of sixty kilometers from Probolinggo towards the east, is Besuki, the capital city of regency. Houses, here are more than 200 years old. From Besuki, the road continues towards the southeast via Arak-arak, to finally arrive at Bondowoso. Along the road the scenery is beautiful.
Bondowoso is known as a town of retired people. It is 225 meters above the sea. The greatest activity occurs when the bullfight season arrives. Remains from a megalithic period are found in the center of the town, on the slope of Besar Hill. There is a stone sarcophagus, stone statues and a stone chair.
Tasnan is a swimming pool not far from Bondowoso. There is also a pond named Sumber Kalong about 12 kilometers from the town. The Arak-arak Mountains is a string of hills between Pasir Putih Beach and Bondowoso. The road uphill is steep and twisting. The fields and forests give a serene air to the surroundings.
